Selling the Sizzle

                                                                                       Edition 374 Monday 10/04/17

Hi,I spend most of my week talking to people so I reckon on the weekend its ok not to want to talk to people (immediate family excluded).I love my own space and doing my own thing and the weekend is the time I get to do that and I don’t care who finds that anti-social its what makes me and my family happy and that’s all I care about!

Now Ive got that off my chest I did however break tradition for a special occasion on Saturday night to honour my wife as she received some hard earned Fire Bridage achievement awards….Yay you go girl !! love from the anti social occasionally grumpy man!!

Fletcher reckons the Easter bunny is definitely coming to our house regardless of his recent lapses in behavour standards. He got the inside word at Daycare that there is no Easter bunny it is in fact his parents and how could they ever let him go without Hmmmm.

We got ‘Most improved Player’ at footy on Saturday which means we have to remember the oranges for half time next week!(and not bring sliced apples that go brown by half time like one unfortunate soccer Mum discovered last week!!!) Crikey,no pressure J

Something funny and simple to try at the next kids birthday party is good old fashioned egg and spoon, sack (see pic) and  three legged races plus pass the parcel all still such natural and free fun proving keeping it that way beats flash and expensive all day long!

The Hendersons reckon they are the exception to the ‘flash and expensive’rule!

“Paralyze resistance with persistence”. Woody Hayes

How persistent is too persistent ?
It takes a lot of courage to make the initial sales approach either face to face or via phone.
It then takes more courage, persistence and a little sprinkle of luck to follow through to get the initial meeting/meetings and then ultimately make J or lose L the sale.
The problem is that most people we call on and then have to pursue don’t understand the process from our perspective nor do they give a monkeys about us or our feelings.
Every week I am exposed to the best and the worst from the coalface that is frontline sales!
Why do too many people feel they can treat salespeople like second class citizens?
All we are after is some courtesy and a straight answer are you interested or not Yes or No?
Crikey if there is interest lets talk more and if there isnt then lets both agree and move on!!
What I cant handle is their reluctance to signal one or the other in a prompt honest manner.
Don’t respond and YES I will pursue you until you do…because that is my job!!!
Ignore me and I will pursue you even harder because I wont go away and I need to know.
As a sales professional I would be so much happier if prospective customers I approached would adopt the same professional approach in their own roles.
If they did wouldn’t the business world be a much more Upbeat’ and pleasant place to be?

You bet,and for good reason, people would be appreciative and empathetic of others!

Recently I pursued someone to the end of the earth and back. When they eventually did the decent thing and responded it was them that apologised profusely not me??

Why cause grief on both sides, why not be courteous, prompt and professional it would save us all a lot of time and heartache. That Ladies and Gentlemen is your challenge this week!!
