Hi,if child birth is as prolonged and painful or more than
back pain I apologise for ever mocking it! I have been stopped firmly in my
tracks with a back muscle problem that has yet again reminded me health and
mobility is a gift that needs to be treasured and never taken for granted L.As you know I am a grumpy/bad patient
so admittedly a little hard to live with for the long weekend.Lucky someone a
lot more patient loves me long longtime!
Enough moaning….life goes on at 48 as the minor birds
multiply in the letterbox and the fit active component of the family thrives in
the giant playground that is the wild west coast!!
Fletcher
reckons; it is ok to fire water guns inside the house and use his
parents bed as a trampoline as he evades other local water gun invaders and
pillow fighters!Calling him and other first year soccer kids ‘midgets’ whilst accurate
in most cases is still a bit rough!!?
Having learned my ‘he who hesitates’ lesson in the past I seized the opportunity last week to grab an old wooden ladder from a waste pile.I was assisting an elderly rate payer to save the planet when he agreed I could have it.What an interesting man he was however he got told off by his daughter later. Seems she had some interest in old wooden ladders which then prevented him from
giving me two others he said I could have!! Haha….proving
categorically “he who doesnt hesitate definitely wins!!”.(love my
ladder!!...see attached)
Speaking of winning, have an awesome short week ahead………Cheers
Jonesey!
The Hendersons reckon there is always someone worse off so
stop moaning!!

There was a time when being or being referred to as a ‘used
car sales person’ was an insult.
So when it happened to me last week I naturally stopped and
thought about it for a while.
The reference was from a potential customer about my relentless
pursuit of his business!!
He then went on to say I was like Arthur Daley the artful UK
TV wheeler and dealer!
We both laughed a lot during this conversation, it felt easy
and totally connected.
To me building the connection is the key. This allows you to
laugh about stuff like this.
If we take this particular case it has also enhanced rather
than eroded the relationship.
I believe this potential customer respects rather than loathes
my enthusiasm to do a deal!
If we believe in ourselves and our ability to connect and negotiate
then we have no fear.
Instead of being worried about these comments I am looking
forward to doing the deal!
So in my case my customers comments were clearly good
humoured and well intentioned.
So back to the used car guys…..are they really that bad or
just good keen men and women?
I think they are a group along with insurance, encyclopaedia
and vaccuum sales people(amongst others) who have been unfairly targetted as
all that is bad about selling.
The irony and the reality is that sure there are probably
some dodgy people in every industry/profession however I believe these sales
people are among the best in ours.
They are well trained, passionate, energetic and totally
devoted to making sales.
People who genuinely want to buy are not offended however
‘tyre kickers’ will always be!
So Im taking the reference to me being one of them a
compliment not an insult or criticism.
“We miss 100% of the sales
we don’t ask for”. Zig Ziglar
