Edition 363 Monday 23/01/17
Hi,welcome to ‘Upbeat 2017’,I hope the year is already off to
a rip roaring start for you all!
We had an awesome long lazy break enjoying #48 in holiday
mode and even swapping West with East coast for a stint ‘overseas’ on Waiheke
Island. We know we are lucky to have the best of both worlds available to us, so
made sure to make the most of it to totally relax.
A friend of mine used to take his gym away on holiday,we
thought that was a bit extreme but do admit to succuming to our coffee
addiction by taking our Nespresso machine haha!!!
True best friends are hard to come by.These are the ones that
are there for you unconditionally, always happy to see you and never judge you
no matter how grumpy!!
True best friends leave a huge void when they are no longer
there which is something we found out during the break when we lost our dearly
loved best friend Harry Jones. At 14 dog and 98 equivalent human years Harry was
no spring chicken but we kind of hoped he would last forever.Harry ‘owned’
Muriwai Beach,it was his happy place so it was poetic that he passed away
peacefully on our last walk together as quiet as you please on the black sand!
Fletcher
reckons; Harry was a legend and an awesome live soft cuddly friend .He
is especially greatful to the H dog for the driving lesson in Mums car (see
attached).
Also,Santa delivered,a first fish was landed and East/West
coast waves were boogied J.
A special treat was meeting Waiheke kids book author Mark
Sommerset who wrote a personal message and autographed his latest book for
Fletcher.
Always exciting to crack into a new year, time to ‘get your
froth on’………Cheers Jonesey!
The Hendersons reckon Harry Jones was their best and most
Scoobydoo friend too!

Holidays are a time I like to reflect on where I am at and
where I think I would like to go.
Over my recent break I have had several good new business ideas
(self and company).
These have been generated from reading the daily paper,
magazines and books mostly.
The major thing I have taken from this and touched on
previously is that I should be making time to read and reflect during the year
as well.
This is something that needs to be worked into the normal
business week/weekend.
So as a goal for the new year I am going to do just that as
well as working hard to develop the ideas I have had into new ongoing revenue producers.
It is all very well having ideas, we can all do that but it
is then turning those ideas into plans and action that takes commitment and
energy.
So for starters in memory and tribute to Harry Jones we are
planning to write a kids book featuring our dearly departed Lab/Newfy X.
Meeting childrens author Mark on Waiheke was the catalyst to
hatch our furry plan and we cant wait to put together the script and the
illustrations to make this dream a reality.
‘They’ say there is a book (or maybe a series?) in all of us,
who knows till you have a crack?
We have also decided that no matter what happens this is our
year so we are going for it!!
I hope you are equally as enthused and strongly encourage you
all to follow your dreams!!

Fletcher, follow your dreams, anything is possible”. Mark
