Hi,there
are two things most of us fear, ambulances and hospitals and Fletcher Jones is
no exception to that rule!!!So yesterday when he failed to take a tight
lefthander on his bike and was launched into mid air it was going to hurt! The
dreaded ambulance was duly despatched from the dreaded hospital, just him
knowing that escalated the trauma and the event 10x!!!Now what you didn’t know
is we were on holiday in the Bay of Islands celebrating Christines birthday and
the ambulance was on its way from BOI hospital located in the sleepy hollow of
Kawakawa!!Crikey what had started out as the perfect day chasing dolphins and
seals through the hole in the rock off stunning cloud draped Cape Brett was
heading for a dramatic A&E conclusion!!(see post op photo attached!!!)
Fletcher says; If you have fears
it is best to confront them head on (excuse the pun son!). So he did by taking
a ride in an ambulance and a visit to hospital with a small Op thrown in….fears
overcome, job done, both full of good people and happy outcomes for 3 year old
victims plus 6x stitches and a future scar to boot…..boys will be boys!!Poor
Mum& Dad needed the oxygen as well !!
Staying
on the health theme we acknowledge that people cant be wrapped in cotton wool
but it is best to err on the side of caution especially when it comes to your
heart!!.....So I didn’t hesitate to get my bi-annual scan recently to ensure my
transplanted valve is still cranking away happily!!It was reassuring to be told
I was the healthiest person my cardio had seen all day (although I didn’t see
the others!!).The all clear was given to continue training for what I don’t
know but when the call up comes I know I
will be ready….maybe I just train to be ‘Upbeat’ as often as possible and to
get the most out of every day……that’s a pretty cool reason in my view…….wont
you join me??!!!!
I
hope you are happy and well, have a great week ahead……………….Cheers Jonesey!
Harry and the Hendersons reckon taking them in future will
ensure Fletchers safety!!!

Last week I was lucky enough to be invited to talk to our driving team
about the importance of ‘customers’ to our business.
Now instead of being a smart arse sales person laying the responsibility
for this function on the drivers I approached it from a ‘team perspective’.
I have always believed that Customer Service is the responsibility of
every employee in any business regardless of whether they have a direct contact
with external customers or not!!
It starts at the top and should be driven throughout the entire
organisation.
Jim Rohn says that one customer well looked after is equivalent to
$10,000 worth of advertising!!
Other adages claim rightly that it costs 5x as much to find new
customers as it does to look after existing ones well!!.....so why are so many
businesses crap at looking after customers?
It is my view this occurs daily because companies don’t instill a
customer driven service ethic amongst staff by having all team members focus on
the needs and changing requirements of their customers. Time and time again I
find that this focus is lost because communication lines break down or don’t
exist in the first place. How can we meet and exceed the needs of our customers
if we don’t know what they are?
With direct reference to our drivers they have a huge part to play in
this process at Green Gorilla and acknowledging this and getting them to do so
is a good starting point.
It was a pleasure to be involved in these meetings and went a long way
in my view to providing a lead by example from ‘sales’ who are aften maligned
for their lack of ownership in this area!!
So it is out there…..Clinton Jones cares about our customers and invites
you to do the same!!!@!!!

well that your customers will want to see it again and will bring their
friends.” Walt Disney
